A feature in eBay Confidential a few months backled to a deluge of questions and requests for moreinformation about the subject concerned, namely ALTERED ART. In fact, this generated so much interest I thought you’d all like to see a genuine piece of altered art in the making.
It’s one of my own unique product ideas and it involves creating stunningly beautiful and hugely innovative pieces of jewellery that sell incredibly well, especially at Christmas.
The trick is to find antique paper items, such as postcards, prints, photographs, Victorian scraps and maps, which can be cut to shape and used as the illustration for charms, cufflinks, watch backings, and so on. The finished items look spectacular and all the essential jewellery components can be found very inexpensively on eBay or direct from a massive wholesale company called Burhouse Ltd.
