Hi,

Most of you know this already... but at 'eBay Confidential'
we do our best not only to tell you how to make money
ON eBay, but also how to use eBay as the pivot from
which to make more money OFF eBay.

And so you'll often hear me rabbiting on about growing a
mailing list on eBay with a view to marketing products to
people who join your list as a result of purchasing some
other product on eBay.

We also recommend you create your own products to sell
on eBay. In so doing you have a unique product, different
to anything any other person is selling - which can lead to
high profits every time you promote your self-made wares
on eBay.

Among the best products to create to resell are simple,
ready-made websites with their own registered domain
name. You'll find some of these web sites selling for
hundreds of pounds on eBay and others going unsold
(even though they're priced in pennies).

That's because there's one main reason people buy
ready made websites on eBay. People want a site that's
likely to begin generating profit from the moment they
take over ownership. That usually means creating a site
rich in unique content that's already generating traffic. For
sites like that you can expect to charge double figure
sums (even three or four figure sums) for sites that are
not that difficult to manufacture, in less than a day.

I know that because I do it myself, all the time, although I
don't normally sell my sites. Typically I use them to
generate monthly income from Google AdSense or other
affiliate promotions.

With so much WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You
Get) software available today, it's easy for anyone, even
newcomers, to create professional looking web sites.
Adding unique content is also easy - you simply create
your own articles or adapt a few articles from the public
domain and upload them to your site.

Getting ready-made traffic to your site is a little more
complex, but also very simple once you know what you
are doing. That's why our first article is a 'Step-By-Step
Guide to Building Childishly Simple Niche Web Sites For
Maximum Search Engine Traffic Potential'.

The second article for my slightly offbeat newsletter
illustrates a simple way that all but guarantees the
majority of people on your mailing list will actually read
your ezine. This in turn means a higher number of
potential buyers for whatever you recommend.

Here we go then, two articles to help you make even
more money from eBay.

Step-By-Step Guide to Building Childishly Simple
Niche Web Sites For Maximum Search Engine Traffic
Potential
***

One big secret to creating simple web sites in expectation
of high and early search engine traffic is to create your
site in blog format, for the following main reasons:

* Search engines love blogs and often list blog sites
higher than equal quality web sites for similar topics.

* Some blogging software is free to use, including
Google's 'Blogger' and 'WordPress'. The very fact that
Google owns 'Blogger' means sites created on 'Blogger'
are likely to rank favourably in Google's search engine.
However, having your sites hosted with the parent
company featured in the domain name, such as
www.mysite.blogspot.com for blogger blogs, looks
unprofessional, not to mention people buying sites prefer
to have a traditional domain name also. So I recommend
you either have Blogger creations forwarded to
conventional domain names, or choose other blogging
software which, like Blogger, can be uploaded
independently of the parent company, such as
Wordpress. Alternatively, create your sites using blogs
available with domain names purchased at

* Blogs are easy to create, easy to maintain, and
everything can be done online without knowledge of
uploading web sites or using html.

* A wide range of applications exist for increasing a
blog's presence online much faster than blogs typically
being indexed by search engines. 'Pinging' is one such
tactic to let the world know a blog has just been updated,
it might take just minutes to begin generating traffic to
your blog, unlike waiting for search engines to index new
blogs or new blog pages which can take days or even
months.

These are the steps to creating a high traffic niche blog:

* Choose a niche

* Obtain suitable domain name for your site

* Choose suitable key words and phrases for your
site

* Create categories or sections on your blog using
key words and phrases as names

* Upload articles and blog postings using key words
and phrases in titles and content

* Monetise articles and blog postings with AdSense
or other affiliate products

* Continue creating and uploading articles and blog
postings focusing on specific key words and phrase.
Either write these items yourself or have others
create them for you

* Submit your blog to all the blog directories at:

* Promote your blog/s in any and every effective way
possible, such as by posting to other people's blogs,
creating Squidoo lenses about your blog, adding
articles to article directories, and so on.

Simple Secret to Ensuring More People Read
Your eZine and Buy Whatever You are Promoting
***

Many people send their ezines in their entirety via an
email, usually comprising plain text, without graphics,
and sometimes including the odd active link to
whatever the ezine publisher is promoting.

That's a sure-fire recipe for disaster, for one main
reason:

Most people go online to find several emails in their
box, all awaiting reply. Your email might be one of
ten or twenty vying for recipients' attention. What
usually happens is that recipients focus first on
emails from employers or customers. Then they
open your email and, spotting hundreds of lines of
plain boring text with nothing specific to catch their
attention, they decide to read your letter later, when
more time is available, only most people forget!

There's a much easier way to make sure your email
is opened and acted on right away. You do it by
publishing your ezine to its own specific web page
and in your email you give readers a link to that web
site with an exciting message telling why readers
should visit your page right away. Most people will
click on that link right away and, being greeted with a
colourful and professional web site, most will stay
awhile to read your ezine and potentially purchase
whatever you are promoting.

There's another reason why it's a good idea to have
your ezine published online instead of being sent by
email. The fact is emails quickly get binned or
overlooked or lost in the jungle of competing emails.
Web sites can stay online forever and be read many
times by current ezine members and others who find
your web site through search engines or from
mentions in articles, blog postings, and so on.

So rather than adding the entire text of your ezine to
your emails, say something like this:

Your copy of No Brain Money Maker is waiting for you
right now at:
(PLEASE NOTE: this link is not real)
That's okay, but it isn't good, that link does not create
any urgency for people receiving your email to move
quickly to read your ezine.

That short mention in your email need to be exciting,
it must create urgency, it must make recipients rush
to click through to your web page, they must never
be tempted to close the email to attend to it later.

This message should definitely be more successful
than that earlier bland invitation to visit your
newsletter page:

It's Here Now. It's what you've been
waiting for! Get your early bird bonus gift
'No Brainer Instant Cash Cows' at:
(PLEASE NOTE: this link is not real)

It's still not perfect but I'm willing to bet many more
people will click on that link immediately they access
your email than will click on the earlier link or the
original boring complete ezine text email.

Incidentally, don't try finding those pages, they're
examples only, the don't really exist!

Happy eBaying!

Until next time,
Avril

Selling Info Products on Ebay Rules - by Khaled
Taleb
***

Unlike products that get shipped and lose the
reference to your company, infoproducts are an
excellent way to establish a constant self-promotion
engine that primes your marketing sales.

The beauty of self-promotion is that it is uniquely
suited to the Internet where self-made experts can
reap very big profits, even though they've never gone
through conventional business channels. For
instance, if you are trying to get published with a
major publishing house, you will probably face the
Catch-22 where they will only publish well-known
authors or those people who have already made a
name for themselves in their business.

Using the WWW you can make yourself the expert
and start to build a marketing platform AND print your
eBook to an audience of interested parties, without
having to get the approval of a major publishing
house. Then, after you've convinced everyone that
you really are an expert on something, if you want to
go through the official channels, it will be much easier
to convince them to publish your books.

Great Exposure Worldwide

Another reason that selling infoproducts is so
powerful has to do with the exposure of customers all
over the world through portals like eBay. In a
conventional retail store, you might be able to place
your item on commission on their shelves for a period
of time, but the exposure that gets you is not the
same as if eBay allows you to put your product in
front of their members.

There are literally hundreds of millions of registered
users in eBay and every single one of them could
potentially be your next customer. Obviously the level
of exposure you get with eBay for your infoproducts
will far exceed printing your book at an independent
publisher and then trying to get it put on the shelves
of local independent bookstores. Instead, you bypass
that entire process and save money in time and
effort.

With that number of potential customers out there,
you can afford to start pricing your products
competitively. Your aim should be to become an
eBay Powerseller with your own eBay store to
maximize the exposure and help you save costs on
listing fees. To generate this amount of product
choice and sell effectively on eBay, we will introduce
you to different ways to generate infoproduct content
that you might not have considered.

Modern Ways Of Doing Business

Now that you've made the choice to become a
modern business, you shouldn't have to do
everything by hand. Learning how to either buy or
generate new content using slick methods can be
one way to increase your product line without
significant investment. Even if you decide not to go
that way, you can also hire third party ghostwriters
and use them to generate infoproducts for your
online business.

You will want to learn how to market online versus
doing so face-to-face and how important email
harvesting is to starting a pipeline for your business.
From there, you can start to generate revenues not
only with your products, but also through affiliate
marketing, partner or sponsored offers, and even
advertising revenues, if you are smart.

Once you have a good idea on how to use the
Internet and eBay to your advantage, all you have to
do is locate or create infoproducts that can help you
start marketing online. To make it fun as well as
potentially profitable, you should pick a niche that you
love and that excites you. This will carry through in
the subject of the infoproducts yourself, where your
enthusiasm can spread like wild fire.

As of March 31, 2008, the rules for selling
infoproducts on eBay have changed somewhat. You
can no longer use auctions to sell infoproducts that
aren't in physical format unless you choose to
advertise them using eBay's classified ads area. You
would do this by listing your virtual infoproducts in the
Everything Else > Information Products category.
Even doing this, there are additional rules that eBay
has disclosed that people using infoproducts must
follow to be allowed to work within eBay.

The New Rules

The new rules are:

*    No cross categories - The infoproduct cannot
contain cross category information.

*    Not allowed as a bonus in listings - If you sell
other products and want to promote your infoproduct
for free as a bonus, you will be violating the terms of
agreement with eBay.

*    No brand names - Infoproducts should be
somewhat generic and shouldn't promote other brand
names and keywords other than that particular
product being advertised.

*    No excessive keywords - To grab traffic, some
promoters resort to flooding their infoproducts with
keywords. This is not allowed when using eBay in a
classified advertising format.

*   Not point to outside URLs, vendors - eBay is really
trying to knuckle down on people trying to steal their
traffic, so they are not allowing references to outside
URLs where they can buy the infoproduct or to other
vendor's products.

For a more comprehensive, up-to-date, listing of the
restrictions on selling infoproducts on eBay, be sure
to check out eBay.com. The penalties for not
following the rules can be severe and can include the
following:

* Cancellation of listing,
* Imposing account privilege limits,
* Suspension of your account,
* Forfeiting eBay fees,
* Losing Powerseller status.

If you want to find out how to make huge piles of
money for yourself (with the help of infoproducts and
eBay, of course) all you have to do is go to:
