'The Money's In the List' and How to Grow a Massive
List on eBay
***

You've heard it said many times before: 'The Money's in
the List' which, in a nutshell means the very best way to
make money fast without incurring high overheads is to
grow a list of buyers and enquirers to whom to send
regular product offers.  Apart from lots of lovely dosh, the
upshot is, instead of constantly listing products on eBay
with potential to sell just once, a mailing list allows you to
sell your chosen product many times, literally in minutes.

The trick to making really big profits fast is to
continuously grow your email list and constantly seek
products to interest a major proportion of people
receiving your promotional emails.  It really is simple and
I can vouch for being able to make a few hundred
pounds literally within minutes purely by locating a
product, writing a short letter recommending that product
to people on my mailing list, then waiting for sometimes
hundreds of payments to pile into my PayPal or
ClickBank accounts.

Finding products is easy, growing a list is also easy but it
can sometimes be slow.  You need to build a list fast,
without high cost, without having to wait months for your
first big pay day.

There are many ways to do this on eBay, by writing
reports for example, or compiling buyers and enquirers'
names, and so on.

But there's an even better way to grow a massive
mailing list on eBay which not only costs very little but
also means never having to pay final selling fees.  And it
can all happen really fast.

It's called EBAY CLASSIFIED ADS and it's one of very
few ways eBay actively encourages you to poach their
site visitors with intention to sell products outside of
eBay.

EBAY CLASSIFIED ADS look nothing like their tiny
offline counterparts in newspapers and magazines, or
even like those on sites such as Craig's List, in fact they
look every bit like an ordinary eBay listing with the
exception that no bidding takes place and advertisers
can include phone numbers and email addresses and
even active links to Internet sites outside of eBay.
Regardless of how they look, EBAY CLASSIFIED ADS
represent a great way to grow a mailing list as well as to
promote affiliate opportunities and other commission
earning deals from inside the eBay framework.

I found a great free eBay guide explaining how to make
money from EBAY CLASSIFIED ADS which says: 'eBay
classified ads are not that well known, yet they offer
great potential for making money online.  The massive,
'ready-to-buy' traffic that eBay gets every day can be
used by you to promote your business or products away
from eBay and make money. You can place links to
external websites, contact phone numbers, mailing
addresses etc., things you can't do with regular auction
listings.'

This is how you locate other people's classified ads.  'On
eBay's home page look at the top right of the page to the
right of the 'search' button and you will see an 'advanced
search' link, click on it.  On the new page, click the
'search' button. On the page you arrive at you will see a
row of drop down boxes. Go to the 'Format' box and
drop it down then select 'classified ads' and click the
'show' button.  You will now have arrived at a page
showing a whole lot of categories with zero listings.
These categories are not currently eligible for classified
ads. Scroll down the page to find categories that are
eligible.' (Source: How To List A Classified Ad On

CLASSIFIED ADS by: graham2330 )

This report - by eBay seller ID graham2330 - is worth
checking out, it shows how to place a classified ad and
use it to drive traffic to your mailing list sign up page or
directly to products you are selling, either belonging to
you or as an affiliate.

A Few Provisos
***

*  Currently you must list on eBay.com but you can
attract visitors from all eBay country sites.

*  Not all eBay categories can be used for Classified
Advertising, but the profit potential is so huge it could be
worth placing advertisements in categories you do not
normally use and grow a list for products you may not
otherwise consider selling.

There's a lot of scope there for locating affiliate products,
on ClickBank for example, and using eBay Classifieds to
intentionally grow a list to which to promote specific
items.

For example, Mystery Auctions, mentioned above, can
be promoted via eBay Classifieds, and there are plentiful
eBooks on ClickBank and other affiliate sites to help
people make money from Mystery Auctions.  So you
could write a short report about Mystery Auctions,
promote it through an eBay Classified Ad., provide a link
for visitors to click through to another Internet page (or
even your eBay 'About Me' page) where they sign up to
join your mailing list and download your free report and
hopefully order the paid for recommended product.

Much the same technique can be used to sell other
items via classified ads in appropriate categories.  The
technique is immensely popular with information sellers
and you can build a significant mailing list from just a few
regular promotions.

How the Listing and Promotional Process Works
***

'Classified Ads have the following features:

*  List your asking price. No bidding takes place.

*  Interested buyers fill out a contact form, and their
information is sent to you.

*  List a phone number, and interested buyers can call
you (optional).

*  List your item, service or property for a specific period
of time.

*  Revise item-specific information at any time while the
ad is active.'

What To Sell On eBay - Children's Items
by Suzanne Arant-Wells
***

Being a mom and an eBay seller is a great combination.
Here is how to make some money from things you
already have lying around the house. You may not
realize how valuable all that 'junk' is on eBay.

Has your child ever begged you to do a sport or activity
and then after the first week, decided that it wasn't for
him? Sell those items on eBay! Case in point: My son
begged me to let him play football. We bought the
equipment (used of course), the shoes, the Under
Armor, the pants. He decided he didn't like getting
clobbered at practice 3 times a week. So, no more
football. I sold his equipment and accessories on eBay
as a set. I actually made money on that deal. Many
parents don't want to invest in new items for sports as
they have faced this situation before. You can sell
apparel, equipment, and shoes from activities like
baseball, soccer, dance, gymnastics, cheerleading,
tennis, and ice-skating. Here is a list of children's sports
items that are "good sellers" on eBay:

*  gymnastics and dance leotards
*  football pads/clothing
*  lacrosse equipment
*  running shoes/track spikes
*  dance shoes (tap, ballet, jazz)
*  roller blades/ice skates
*  hockey equipment

Halloween costumes are also good sellers. Your child
wears it once, plays in it for a week, and then it goes on
the closet floor. Gather up those costumes and put them
up for sale on eBay. Disney costumes, Tom Arma
costumes, and anything princess related will do well.
Electronics, CD ROM games, X-Box, Wii, Playstation,
Gameboy games, and learning products are good
sellers. Hooked on Phonics, V-Tech, and LeapFrog
items do very well. (Teachers, home schoolers, and day
care centers often pick up used educational products on
eBay.)

Sell items in a lot or batch. When my son finished his
"Land Before Time" phase, I sold all 8 videos in a lot.
Take care of an item's packaging and save the boxes.
When your child has outgrown or lost interest in the item,
you can sell it on eBay. Keep up with those DVD cases,
CD cases, shoeboxes, or Gameboy game boxes. An
item sells much better if you can include the package or
box it came in, even if it is used.
