Hi,

An email today tells me my eBay listings are so poor
they must be very off-putting to potential bidders.
'People like to see attractive borders, different fonts, a
few pictures here and there. Look at mine!' I clicked
through, looked at his site, and yes it was very visually
appealing.

'I'll let you have my template free', he said, but still I was
cautious, this free lunch thing doesn't sit well with me.
But still, I thought I'd give it a go, in case it's something
our readers might like, or something they had better
avoid at all costs.

To cut a long story short, the template was free, there
was tons of space to upload graphics, but there was one
small problem, namely that you need to upload the
template to your own web site and hosting service
before directing it to your eBay listings.

*****
BUT... you are only allowed to host your template
with one specific provider.
*****

One rather expensive specific provider!

My message isn't one of asking you to avoid any
particular free template or expensive hosting provider,
it's to highlight a common misconception regularly
confronting new Internet business owners, and it's based
on trusting other people's opinions above your own.

The scam depends on every newcomer's lack of
confidence in his or her own ability to create quality web
sites, eBay listings, eBooks, or to properly utilise virtually
any other newly encountered skill.

It happens all the time, and every day I get emails from
people to the effect that 'so and so' says:

* 'I need a more efficient mailing system to contact my
past buyers on eBay';

* 'The pdf creator I've used for the eBooks I'm selling on
eBay is leaving gaps and splodges all over the place and
some of my pages are completely blank';

* 'The web design package I'm using for back end
selling on eBay is causing problems for people using
XXXX browsers and it's losing me lots of sales.'

And so on, and so on, and so on!

I learned long ago, after hours of worry and many
pounds wasted, to see 'so and so' for what he really is:
someone desperate to make money and not caring how
many lies he tells or how much pain and anguish he (or
she) causes to others.

The upshot of most emails of this ilk is that 'so and so' is
insulting you on purpose, to make you feel bad, to worry
you, to goad you into buying his inferior product.

More likely than not, whatever you are doing already,
whatever products and software you are using, it's
probably much better than 'so and so' is trying to sell.

So next time 'so and so' criticises you or your work, ask
'so and so' to give you the names and email addresses
of some of his past customers. Contact those people,
ask if they liked the recommended product. If they do
like it, ask the provider for a free trial of the product.
Virtually all reliable companies, with quality products,
offer a free trial or at least a money back guarantee. If
there is no free trial, no guarantee, this may not be a
good company and not a good place to do business.

Happy eBaying!

Making Money Selling Silver Jewelry on eBay by
ApisithChawla
***
Making money selling silver jewelry is simple. All you
need is a computer with an Internet connection and
some basic computer skills, and a supplier that provides
you more than just jewelry.

You will need a supplier to caters to your specific needs.
If you want to succeed selling jewelry on eBay you need
to have a large variety of items, beautiful pictures, and
new products all the time.

Since you would be starting a new business, it would not
be easy for you to purchase from suppliers with
minimum orders, even a minimum order of $100 is too
high for newbies. Silver jewelry costs around $2 and
above per piece; depending on the design/make. A $100
minimum would end you up with 50 pieces; and what if
the items do not sell? Most suppliers do guarantee their
products, and will refund you for incorrect merchandise.
Is there any supplier that would allow you to return
products that are not sold within a certain period of time?

If your supplier provides pictures, it will save you a LOT
of time, taking good pictures of jewelry requires a good
camera, the correct lighting, and a lot of time.

Further more, if a supplier packages products
individually; it would save you a lot of time to package
the products yourself. You should be receiving a
shipment with all the products prepackaged, in either
plastic bags, or bubble wrap; so all you have to do is sort
them out, insert them into envelopes/boxes and mail
them to your clients.

You can easily profit up to 200-300% of your buying
cost, for example by buying a ring for $3.00 and reselling
it on eBay for $10. That is $7.00 profit, from just clicking
your mouse.

If you list 10 rings a day, it would be $70 a day, for a
total of 30 days. That is $2100.00; minus 10% for eBay
expenses and other costs; you would be left with
approximately $1900.00.   This is only the minimum,
you'll make much more by selling 10 rings a day and you
can list a lot more than that. There are other products
too, such as earrings, bracelets, pendants, and more. All
of this; and more are profitable items.

A supplier that allows you to return items that are unsold
is your guarantee to success. There is no real
investment involved, if it does not work; just return the
items. However if it works, build on it from there.

Can You Really Make Money Selling New Release
CDs & DVDs On eBay? By
JoeClare
***

As an active eBayer, I am often being asked about
products to sell.

A common question is "Where can I purchase products
such as new release CD's DVD's and Video Games for
Playstation and X box at a 75% to 100% discount?"

Well folks, this sort of discount on this type of
merchandise is not available from Wholesalers or
Dropshippers. The reason being, the competitive nature
of the electronics industry, and simple supply and
demand.

Still with the tremendous popularity of these products
and their ease to package and ship, people want to sell
them. So where can you find these products at a great
price? Liquidators! Yes that's right, Liquidators!

What exactly are Liquidators? A Liquidator is a
company who buys surplus, over runs, bankruptcies,
and going out of business inventory, etc. They purchase
this merchandise for pennies on the dollar and in turn
pass this saving on to you. There are many Liquidators
who would have just what you are looking for. There are
General Merchandise Liquidators who basically
purchase and sell all sorts of general merchandise. And,
there are Liquidators who specialize and only purchase
and sell merchandise in a specific niche - say
electronics.

An Electronics Liquidator would purchase products from
music stores or department stores with an electronics
dept or movie rental stores or electronic stores that are
going out of business, declaring bankruptcy or who have
overstock. From that inventory they would have some of
the latest CD's, DVD's and Video Games.

Liquidators are similar to Wholesalers and Dropshippers
in that you will have to become a member to have
access to their inventory. Most require no fee to become
a member, while others may charge a nominal fee.
However, Liquidators have a set number of units you
must buy in order to get a great price. A Liquidator will
purchase inventory in bulk and therefore will want to sell
the merchandise in cases or lots.

So, Yes You can make Good Money Selling New
Release CDs, DVDs and, Video Games and the likes on
your eBay auction by choosing the proper supplier. And
remember that selling on eBay is all about research. You
must research the product you are interested in selling.
What is the best price for the item? What is the best
selling price you can get for that item? Also, research
that item's market to see just how many people are
selling this product.

Happy Selling!

Fast Selling Items For The eBay Auction Site by
JustinFuller
***

Most people who are starting a business on the eBay
auction site, want to know which items will sell the best.
Many have elaborate systems or spend a lot of money
on courses designed to help them figure out which items
are selling best. Most of this is not necessary because a
simple and powerful way of finding hot selling items is by
using the eBay auction site itself for your research.

You can search the categories on the eBay auction site
or research past auctions for hot selling items. You can
let eBay do the research for you and let them tell you
what is hot. You can study the search terms people use
to look for items, or use an often-overlooked method, but
potential goldmine, of finding hot items which we can
only touch on in this article. This article will aim to
increase your auction profits by exploring how to use
these techniques.

You should be researching categories on the eBay
auction site, to find hot selling items. Some items are
marked with the word 'Hot'. This isn't a gimmick. These
items are marked as 'Hot' only after 30 or more bids
have been placed on the item. This technique isn't an
exact science and as such is probably widely used.
A great way to have a successful auction is to research
past auctions on the eBay auction site for items that sold
successfully. You could find a lot of hot selling items
there. Old auctions are listed at http://listings.ebay.com .

You could also use the research eBay has already done
for you. A fee based research tool available on the eBay
auction site is called 'eBay Marketplace Research'. A lot
of important statistical information on the buying trends
at eBay is listed here. This could help you determine
how well or how poor an item could do on the eBay
auction site.

Visitors of the eBay auction site can use search terms to
find items they are looking for. This could be valuable
information when doing your research and could bring
up some hot items that people are looking for on the
eBay auction site. These search listings can be found at
http://popular.ebay.com .

A contrary method of finding hot items is by using an
area of the eBay auction site called the 'Want It Now'
section. This potential goldmine is where buyers list
items they want to buy! Sellers can search the listings
and contact the buyer for the sale. It is opposite of listing
an item and waiting for a buyer. There could be
thousands of listings but many want ads may be flooded
with sellers trying to sell them an item. The secret is in
finding out which ads are not being flooded by a lot of
sellers and you could be the one filling all the orders.

Don't guess on how well an item might do on the eBay
auction site because it could be a mistake. Do some
research before deciding on an item to sell. You don't
want to waste your time and money. Listen to the power
sellers who say that a successful auction on the eBay
auction site depends on the amount of research you do.
Justin uses a program that explores the eBay 'Want It
Now' section and uncovers items wanted most
frequently and also ads getting the least response from
sellers! For more information go to:
