Hello,
Want proof that you won't find a better business opportunity
than selling on eBay? Well here it is.
* Literally 6 minutes ago news appeared online that Yahoo is
to close its auctions in the USA and Canada and seemingly has
entered into some agreement to partner with eBay through the
eBay checkout portal.
Common opinion suggests that Yahoo thought it could compete
with eBay but actually found it couldn't!!! Apart from this
making June 3rd 2007 the last day to list an item on Yahoo
auctions, and June 16th the last day to bid or buy, it also means eBay has proved itself top dog in the auction trading stakes.
That's good news, I'm sure you'll agree, and really does
suggest trading on eBay can only keep on getting better.
* eBay has announced new buyer protection programs on the
UK and Ireland sites. On eBay.co.uk and eBay.ie, PayPal will
provide £3150/?200 of coverage with no processing fee, no
minimum purchase price and no seller requirements for all UK /
IE buyers who pay using PayPal, starting in June.
This coverage protects buyers for purchases made of certain
items which are either not received or those that are
significantly not as described. That's bad news for rogue sellers but great news for genuine eBayers and really does build credibility and trust in your business.

Finding Dropshippers and Small Volume Wholesalers at
Trade Shows
***
Trade shows are great places to find suppliers, generally
manufacturers and wholesalers, but many are also happy to
dropship their items directly to your customers. They reason
they don't do so already is usually because they haven't been
asked or they don't know how dropshipping works. It's your
job to educate them.
The big secret to arranging exclusive dropshipping deals is to
approach manufacturers and wholesalers face-to-face at trade
shows.
Major trade shows have hundreds of exhibitors, it's like an
Aladdin's Cave, there's so much to choose from, so many
people to meet.
And, best of all, the vast majority of manufacturers are great at creating
products but very poor at promoting their goods. They really need people like you, and me.
The secret to success is to act professionally, don't come
across as someone desperately seeking something to sell,
anything to sell as long as it gets them a little further out of debt!
Look closely at their goods before you approach stand holders.
Scrutinise, look at things from all angles, try to look like an
expert, a very picky expert. It's good to have someone with
you, someone to converse with quietly about these people and
their products.
Of course, it's all a big show, these products may be exactly
what you want, but what the stall holders want is that you pay
up front for their products or place a big order right away. Not good!
At my first trade show I made the mistake of buying one of each
item on some stalls, hundreds of cufflinks from one, four
hundred dog pendants from another. I spent about £34,000 that
day, because I was new to eBay and thought this is what
'proper' eBayers do. Wrong, wrong, wrong. I still have more
than £33,000 worth of stock tying up space in my garage more
than two years later. I can't even sell at the price I paid.
It's much different now. With experience, and having made
some great trade contacts, I now realise manufacturers need
people like you and me much more than we need them.
They're great at making things, remember, and lousy at
marketing!

Make Money on eBay - Higher Fuel Costs Can Mean
Higher Sales by Bob Hamilton
***
Often there are marketing opportunities that a seller fails to
recognise. If that opportunity is not recognised there is little chance to
use that opportunity to the seller's advantage. Yet had that opportunity
been recognised it may have meant that the seller can make money on
eBay.
One of those market opportunities has been emerging over the
last many months. That opportunity; fuels costs! For some
sellers higher fuel costs can be an opportunity to make money
on eBay.
Fuel prices continue to creep ever higher and higher. As they
continue their incredible climb use the opportunity to grow your sales and to make money on eBay. Here is a chance to save
shoppers from having to make that $10.00 or $15.00 trip to
purchase the very same or at least similar item as you sell on
eBay.
There are a couple of ways to remind prospective buyers of the
potential savings. Add a comment to your item listings. You
could also consider trying a sub-title on your auction listings. In
either case simply add a brief statement about saving money on fuel by buying from you. You could also entice bidders by providing free shipping on items, or if they buy a certain number of items for FREE shipping. (You would need to create a combined invoice for that buyer that includes FREE shipping.)
The number of options is really limited only by your imagination. All
lead to you having the opportunity to make money on eBay.
Take this opportunity to save your prospective buyers from
spending that $10.00 or $15.00 on a trip. Show them how
purchasing from you not only saves that money, but that they
can get a price that is much lower than the MSPR! Make
money on eBay by saving your buyers from high fuel costs.

sold his brick and mortar store to sell on eBay and has been
helping others to get started on eBay ever since.

The Rules of Linking from Your eBay Auctions
by Jason James
***
Because eBay is such a busy place with many various eBay
stores and markets selling thousands of items, there must be a
few rules set in place to insure that everyone is playing fair.
eBay auctions are a gift for us to make easy money without
having the overhead or the stress of running other types of
businesses so it is ideal that we all adhere to their policies.
Very few other issues will get eBay sellers arguing about the
rules more than the rules on linking to and from your eBay
auctions. eBay has some very firm rules when it comes to
linking and it would be wise of you to follow them to insure that
your eBay auctions stay online and profitable.
Below are the following links that you may use in your eBay
auction description:
1. On your eBay auction, you may have one link to an
additional web page for information. This web page is to be
used exclusively for further information about whatever you are
selling from you eBay auction.
2. Your eBay auction may have links to more photo images of
the merchandise that you are selling on eBay.
3. If you want your customer to click on a link from your eBay
auction that opens up to separate window to send you an
email, then that is ok. In fact this little eBay auction email
window may increase enquiries of your eBay selling item.
4. eBay auction links that connect to your other eBay auctions
or any of your other eBay listings are also permissible.
5. You may have one link that links to your eBay About Me
page. This is in addition to the link next to your user ID that
eBay provides for your About Me page.
6. eBay authorizes you to have links to your vendors' websites
that help you with your auctions and considers any type of
listing services, payment providers, and software programs to
be 3rd party vendors.
But:
1. You cannot have any links to other websites that offers to
sell, trade, or purchase merchandise outside of eBay.
2. Links to any other websites that encourage bidders to place
their bids outside of eBay are not allowed.
3. Your eBay auction cannot have links to outside websites
selling merchandise that is considered illegal at eBay. Links
that connect to websites that solicit ebay user IDs and
passwords are also denied.
When it comes to linking from your About Me page the eBay
rules are pretty much the same overall with your eBay auction.
Because eBay gives you this page to self promote your
business, then linking to your outside eBay website from it is
allowed.
On the other hand, you need to be sure that the link does
connect to other trading sites or to website businesses that sell
the same product or merchandise at the same price or lower
price than what is advertised on eBay.
